RETURN TO WELLNESS: A NEW BEGINNING AFTER BREAST CANCER TREATMENT

Return to Wellness is a FREE program for women who have recently completed treatment for breast cancer (within two years). This program is designed to help women recover from the emotional and physical effects of breast cancer treatment with other women who are also in recovery. Classes involve exercise, strength training, nutrition education, and emotional support. Please call to register.
FEARLESS STORYTELLING™ - WRITING FOR WELLNESS

Since ancient days, we humans have healed, calmed ourselves, found answers, bonded, delighted, and passed secrets by telling stories. Morgan Henderson, M.Ed., therapist, writer, and cancer survivor, will help you free your creative voice, silence your inner critic, and write. Bring a notepad and pen or pencil. Please RSVP by May 4.
MIND BODY SERIES: BOUNDLESS HEALING

This series will explore a number of mind body methods in which the body, emotions, and mind can be integrated to uncover a boundless experience of unconditional healing in the present moment. Attendance at all sessions is recommended.
COOKING FOR LIFE - COOKING WITH SOY

Chef Suzanne Weltman brings her expertise to this “hands on” class that will introduce or re-connect participants to the essence of good food and good cooking. In this session participants will learn about soy and prepare dishes using soy. Attendance is limited. Please RSVP by May 9.

This workshop for people in cancer treatment and caregivers will offer information and education materials to help manage the physical and psychological effects of treatment. John D. Sprandio, M.D., Director of the Delaware County Regional Cancer Center, Erik D. Assarsson, M.D., Attending Physician, Radiation Oncology, BMH and BMHHC, and Lisa Barsky, Cancer Survivor, will be the presenters.
Light refreshments will be served. This program is funded by an unrestricted educational grant from Amgen. Please RSVP by May 19.
THE THIRD ANNUAL MYRNA BRIND LECTURE
CREATIVITY, MINDFULNESS, AND CANCER
THURSDAY, MAY 22 - 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Open Studio facilitator, Caroline Peterson, M.A., A.T.R.-B.C., L.P.C., Research Associate with the Jefferson-Myrna Brind Center of Integrative Medicine, Thomas Jefferson University, will present this program about the benefits of the creative process in supporting people affected by cancer. She will discuss how a creative process grounded in mindfulness can enable the cultivation of self-reliance, patience, acceptance, and letting be, all necessary tools for living through a cancer diagnosis. Ms. Peterson is a board certified art therapist and an advanced level instructor in mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR). A light supper will be provided. Please RSVP by May 19
